Brewbear replied to the topic small pocket knives in the forum Knife Specific Discussion 4 years, 2 months ago
I have quite a few pocket knives, from Land 910 to Kershaw to CRK but my last purchases have been Barry Wood MkI and a few Frost Cutlery Barry Wood style knives. The blades are wide enough to sharpen on my WE 130 without any attachments but I bought the Tormek and it was a good thing since the hand full of Old timers and Schrades have rather…[Read more]

@MarcH pm sent.
Thanks for the info guys. I will probably hold off on the newer L-brackets for now & see how mine hold up, Ive already spent so much on this system on upgrades its ridiculous. I personally believe we should be allowed discounts on these expensive upgrades from W/E especially since at least for me some of them came almost right…[Read more]

There is no doubt they are an excellent addition and @tcmeyer deserves our thanks for the idea as well as Ed for making them available to all of us. My only hitch is that the brackets in the WE 130 are fairly short and I can’t get more out of the extenders. Even so, they are great. Many thanks tcmeyer and Ed K

I have 12 inch rods I use exclusively and wish they were a couple of inches longer, I’m guessing @tcmeyer made his own. It’s true, I still bump the tips every once in a while, but I’m getting used to it.

@tcmeyer, does it count if I had an ice cream while reading your post? I was actually having a vape (kicking off a 4 PaD habit), eating a Klondike bar and reading the post! In spite of how you feel about your posts, I can honestly tell you they are very welcome, full of useful information (sometimes above my level of understanding in spots) and…[Read more]

I appreciate the offer @tcmeyer but I couldn’t wait and I ordered what I thought I’d need last night. I will know in a couple of days or so if I messed up or not.
Cheers,

The highest grit stone I have is 1000 and no stromps. I do have a new soft buffing wheel that can be installed on my drill press (what I bought it for). I also have white and red rouge .. Can you comment on wheel speed which if either rouge, or if I am just probably going to make a mess with a horizontal whee out in mid air.. .. We…[Read more]

thanks guys, really. between the two of you got the answers I needed. took about an evening of looking at scope threads but this answer and an earlier one of yours TC pretty much got me on track. Do either of you guys use a Mac? I saw a few scopes that were limited to PC operating systems and one made reference to a now…[Read more]

So TC, and I guess all on this thread, if one (aka me) is really interested in simply examining how well I’m working across the bevel what would you recommend in the sub $100 range as far as a scope? Of course I’m amazed at the level one can attain with the Dino’s but if good depth of field and ease of use is the primary concern does a…[Read more]

@Mark76 – I am pretty sure it wasn’t there at the beginning…. I think…. :-/…. Next on my list is one of those USB microscopes.
@MarkH – I said magnetic because the filings stick to things…. the edge included… looks like magnetic filings from high school physics/chemistry. I should actually just step it up to 20 degrees… this us…[Read more]
