I also use the  Floureon DXL360S angle gauge and find it to be the best/most accurate of several I’ve used.

I have seen no signs of magnetic loading of the swarf but I really haven’t been looking for it.

The accuracy and USB charging got me to buy it.

I went to the upgrade page and it did show the riser blocks.  However, that was the first step in determining what system you have.  After you choose the riser block it asks you choose your vise type.  Then a page loads with the upgrades that are applicable to your equipment.

Maybe Clay can wiegh in on whether a riser block is available?

I’m with Organic on this topic.  The research I’ve done, as well as my experience, says the lower edge angle is better for edge retention.

Yes, I have tumbled into the pit of 3D printing.  My first attempt at printing with flexible TPU filament was a disaster.  I’m going to stick with PLA/PETG for the time being.  So, it may be a month or two before I can make the paddle bumpers.

Got a chance to try them on my modified Gen3 Pro.  I raised the clamp about 2″ using a riser block I bought from WE.  I did this so I could utilize the entire length of the sharpening paddle on pocket knives.  Sharpening the taller chef knives it was fine.

I had the same problem early on with both the heel and tip area.  tcmeyer had an excellent post about how much of the paddle grit travels over those areas.  I did a quick search in the knowledge base and couldn’t find the post.

I follow Organic’s process – raise the burr on each side at the first grit and then rely on the sharpie and scope to ensure the following grits reach the apex.
