That’s a great idea! Be careful pulling them off, the rod can get away from you when they come off the end and smack your nice new bevel. Happened a couple time with the TPU stops I made. You are pulling with one hand an not holding the rod tight enough with the other.
Hummm that didn’t sound got good.. did it 🙂

Do you recall the thickness of the plates, I have a couple straight connector pieces that when put together will not fit in the Original Gen3 Vise

If you are using any of my 3d printed accessories, watch the acetone, all of the hard parts are made of ABS, which Acetone will melt on contact. Alcohol is fine but not Acetone.

The answer to all the questions is a USB microscope to look at your actual progress of sharpening. This recent post should be of help https://knife.wickededgeusa.com/forums/topic/usb-microscopes-question/

Hi Richard, the only gap I see appears to be under the cube between the bottom of the cube and the steel. There is no gap between the paddle and the steel in that picture

Thanks for the offer Ed, but I think I will be ok. I also apologize for just eyeballing the amount of reduction. The end “looked” almost an inch shorter, but I had not measured. The over all length decreasing is only about 1/2 an inch as you said.

HI Richard! Sorry you ran into this adjustment issue. Did I send the instruction sheet with the adapters, if not my apologies? This is addressed in the instructions. I will post them here just so folks can read them prior to purchase. I highlighted the area that address the over tightening of the belt. At 24 degrees using the small cube…[Read more]

I just received a set of Ed’s micro adjusters and the ball joint is 1″ shorter than the WE. I have installed them but have not used them yet. My setup is a WE 120 with an original Gen 3 Vice and 12″ roods. Not sure a short ball joint is helpful in my setup, rods just got an inch shorter, but not the end of the world! First impression of t…[Read more]

For the price you can’t go wrong! Even if you didn’t use for sharpening (which you will) it is worth having as you will fine other uses. On the low power setting it works great for removing splinters!!!

Hi Thomas! If you have not seen this video, it shows the 3 types of strokes including the very important vertical scrubbing that you are not doing. It’s main focus is not this in particular but it is explained and shown rather well. It helped me considerable.

Very interesting, but do most folks that are not as inclined as yourself, sill use their black paddles or have they all been replaced with the new stone?
My thoughts on brass bushing was slightly different being my first career was a school trained auto tech. If drilling was to be done I had thought about sleeving the entire length of the b…[Read more]

Hey everyone!
I am working on an ABS bushing that could be glued on to the top of the old black centered 1/4″ rod paddles, to allow for a tighter fit on either the original 1/4in rod or the newer slightly larger rod. I have a couple of these old paddles that MarcH sent me to use for prototyping and all of them are worn to the point of being lo…[Read more]

Thanks Mike! Glad you like it and yes, setting the angle of strops with the same ease as a diamond stone is much less cumbersome.

Hey guys/gals, I have been working through an issue with the metal bar and the press fit. Seems that the bar I used when designing this was made by Stanley Hardware (not sure where or when I bought that) and was a bit thicker than 1/8″ So when I bought the last piece Loews had and one from Home Depot, neither would fit in the adapters I had m…[Read more]

You and a couple other folks! Today at lunch I will take my hanger to the post office with an address on the west cost and get shipping cost. After work I have to go to HD for some parts for a few other small projects I have on Saturdays To-Do list and will pick up some bar stock and get a few cut. May have time on Sunday to setup to fab…[Read more]

Thanks Brewbear, and yes I will most likely offer several options. Single hanger with strap, with/or without bar and a double set which is not really needed since you have to remove the accessory to use the WE. No advantage in having a pair unless you have 2 angle cubes and 4 arms 😉
