I love mine.. I bought them from Japanny and Hochco. There’s plenty to be read about him and his brother. He’s not obscure. They cut with a feel that’s either better than or equal to any of the best knives I use and sharpen.

welcome to the forum Paul. So you know, all W.E. models, including the Gen3Pro, are used the same. The Gen3Pro is simply a better equipped, easier to use model. View any W.E. helpful, instructional videos you can find. Wicked Edge produced a lot of good helpful videos along with a ton of videos on YouTube. If you understand the basics of this…[Read more]

They never really caught on. They take a bit of time to get used to.
I prefer to use a an angle cube to maximize the precision WEPS affords users.

- I believe it is called VSTA, Variable stone thickness adapters. They allowed you to position and set the planes on the square bar to manually align all the different thickness stones and mediums you may use, all to the same set angle you started with.

I received the Gritomatic Stone holder pair for WEPS: https://www.gritomatic.com/products/le-series-6-stone-holders-for-wicked-edge-set-of-2
The guide rods bore holes were inconsistent from handle to handle. I gentle used a 17/64″ drill to slightly resize the holes. It worked great. Now the accessory stone holders will work with the standard…[Read more]

I shared in a previous post, I shy away from magnets when steel dust is involved.
The Etsy handles hold one stone per each handle for $25/pair. I’m not sure which stone brands are compatible with those printed handles. The Ruixin stone sets are only 1 stone in each grit. You’ll need two sets in order to make grit pairs for your WEPS. The Ruixin…[Read more]

Use a marker to color the bevel. Watch how you remove the marker when sharpening. It’ll help you see where you’re missing. I suggest you watch this video. It’s a little confusing till about 1:30 where Tom hit’s his

This model sharpener should not contribute to your issue.
Are you clamping the knife in it’s “sweet spot”? If a knife is positioned too far off the sweet spot you may have difficulties covering the bevels.
Another common issue is the knife’s size and positioning may be too low to sharpen. In this situation the stones may be contacting the vise…[Read more]

That great older portable style WE130 F & S model is unique with it’s very small-width square base mount. When sharpening, with your rod end brackets spread out and away from the vise on the square bar, lateral movement can be an issue. I suggest that you use it awhile as it is till you gain enough users experience to figure out how you’d prefer…[Read more]

Welcome to the forum Colby B:
I shy away from magnets with steel dust. I prefer using my setups down flat and stable on a tabletop, not elevated.
