I use the blue painters tape.

I use masking tape on the blades before I clamp them up in my WE130, just in case.

Welcome to the WE family, Todd! I’m glad that everything is working well for you. I own a Pro Pack III as well.

It would be nice to see some photos! Before I bought my CPK U/F, I bought a Buck 120 General. I have always been partial to Buck knives and I just had to have at least one General. I also got three Grade A USA military surplus M7 bayonets for me and my two sons.

I also decided to just buy the Pro Pack III and get it over with because I knew I would eventually end up with one anyway. May as well save a little money up front, and cry once as they say.

I’m the opposite – I bought my WE130 first, and then started buying some knives. I bought a Kershaw Launch 1 because I wanted a decent little auto to clip in a pocket. Then started buying fixed blades. After looking around, I decided that Carothers Performance Knives (CPK), were the knives that fit the bill for me. I love the looks and the…[Read more]

That’s ok. You can use whatever screenname that you want. I just decided to use the same screenname and avatar here, and at BF. This is the first time that I ever did that. I usually use different screennames and avatars for different forums.

You’re very welcome, Wayne. Welcome to the WE family! I use the same user name here as I use on BF.

I don’t know much about the Gen 3 Pro. I figured that the only difference is how they are put together. I like the WE130 because each side is adjusted independently from each other and I can grind asymmetrical grinds if I choose to. Plus it sits lower on the bench or table.
I’m sure that someone with a lot more knowledge that I have will reply…[Read more]

I have a WE130 and don’t know anything about a possible Gen4. But if you’re collecting knives then I would recommend some CPK knives – Carothers Precision Knives. I was fortunate enough to score a gorgeous CPK UF (Utility/Fighter). I also got in on the pre-order of the new DEK1. CPK has a lot of beautiful high quality fixed blade knives that you…[Read more]

That will work good enough to record the position. I might be able to balance it on there long enough to take a photo of it.

That’s true. It wasn’t that big of a deal to me, so I never said anything. I just take a photo of it. But I was puzzled when I saw it the first time.

Yeah, I just didn’t want to say anything because I figured that I would get slapped around. 😊
But it’s an easy fix. I’m sure that they will get around to it when they get a chance.

The AAG is poorly designed. There is a lot of lower space on it that most people will never use unless they are sharpening a boomerang. It needs to go much higher. I have no idea what they were thinking of when they designed it. Hopefully they will fix that.

It will be easier to keep the blade from trying to work out of the clamp if you remove the blade from the handle.

Do you have Windows? You can use MS Picture Manager to compress photos. Then get a free account with http://www.imgur.com. After you compress the photos you can upload them to Imgur, then click on the photo, copy the, “Direct Link”, then paste it in the URL box in the window that pops up when you click, “Select File”. I compress and rename photos with…[Read more]

Hello and welcome to the WE forum! It would help if you mentioned what type of OTF you have or included a photo of it. I have been moving away from OTF’s, but I do have a Boker Kalashnikov Auto with a dagger blade.
- First, I would take the OTF apart so I could clamp the blade without the weight of the handle working against me (Open the handle…
