Ok so i have .01 Polycrystaline spray and not sure if it is better then the stropping paste. In addition when does lapping films come into play? I have .1-.9 Diamond Lapping films

The strops I have

Balsa, Leather, Kangaroo and Nano cloth.

Maybe I can buy a adjustable switch and cut it into the cord to turn down the speed

So I have a bench grinder which has low and medium grit stones as well as several buffing wheels. Does anyone use bench grinders for repairs or polishing?

I ordered this lubricant thinking it would be a good lube for knives. All natural, non toxic. Problem is it smells like wintergreen snuff. Reminds me of the time when I was young chewing it. Not sure people would want their knives smelling like wintergreen. What’s your thoughta?

Since I cannot get to any topic room other then the main forum I had to post here.

So I was thinking after I earn my chops and I get better at this I would like to sharpen knives part time for some extra $. Can some of you post what you charge so I know where I need to price my services?

So he had small jars with different grit pastes. These jars hold much then the small syringes the WE sells. Do you guys recommend using other sources? Do you find other companies correctly identify and market their grits properly?

So this guy first puts down the WE by saying it is over priced but good quality. He forms a bur on each side between each grit stone. Is this necessary? To me it seems he would be taking much more metal off then need be. Whats your thoughts?

Ok so I think I screwed my knife up. When I first measured my knife with factory blade. It was showing 20 degrees. Now when I read it I just have a blurry line on both sides.

Anyone have experience with this unit as well as the one that cost 150.00 from the UK? Is it worth the 150.00 for better performance?

Is there a reason I have to choke up all the way on my micro adjustment to get my 20 degree angle correct?

Placing my handles at the center of the blade I have to take my micro adjustments all the way in (as far as they will go) to reach 20 degrees

Ok. I just got out my digital cube. The knife bevel was at 20 degrees. I just checked the stone and it was 15.4 degrees with my wet pro. In order to get a 20 degree angle I had to move the setting to 24.5

So I matched the stones to the blade and it sits nice on the top of the blade but as I come down to the tip the stones come away from the point. I have started a decent edge except for the tip.
