Does anyone have any idea when the new angle guide thing unveiled at blade show will be available and what it’s called. Also can’t wait to get some hats and shirts.

Frustrated inc replied to the topic Re: the new 2200/3000 stones? in the forum Abrasives 5 years, 6 months ago
I was thinking I would use them after my 1500 and before the ceramics and lapping films. I know the grits are finer than the ceramics grits are but the ceramic and lapping films are a softer medium. If you look at the wicked edge grit progression chart it tends to keep the mediums together more so than the grits.

Thanks guys, I have had several people ask if I can do scissors so I guess I need to pull the trigger on the attachment.

I’m looking for feedback on the scissor attachment. I’m thinking of getting one but There isn’t much info or reviews out there of people who have used it.

I was already thinking I would charge extra for tanto blades. I just don’t want to get so crazy with pricing that I push customers away. Most people at the show have never heard of the wicked edge so they don’t know how good it is. Also I’m advertising sharpening while you shop or wait, so I have to be fairly quick but still effective.

I was thinking $2 per inch with a min of $8, $4 per inch for mirror polish edge. Extra for chip repair or reprofiling. I see what you are saying but I need a price list on paper due to it being a walk up booth. I can’t put “every knife is a little different” on a price list.

I’m sure this has already been asked but I can’t seem to find the exact answer I need. I’m setting up at a gun show soon and I’m wondering what I should charge per inch/knife. I’m trying to make a price list. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Thanks Haffner, I’ll check into both cases mentioned. I have a small RTIC case that’s built like a Pelican case I could use. The problem is that’s where I’m currently storing my knife collection.

I just watched this video and it pissed me off. Not because this guy is an idiot and should stick to belt sanding, but because he is spreading misinformation about the product. The prices he gave are way off actual prices. This hits home for me because I do almost all of my product research of new things I want to buy from watching YouTube…[Read more]

That looks perfect but I checked and it’s been discontinued by manufacturer. Thanks though.

I was wondering how you guys store your extra stones and accessories. I have filled my Nanuk 950 case (the largest case on this site) and need ideas for my future stones. I have looked at the smaller Nanuk and pelican type cases but was thinking there may be a cheaper but equally good alternative. My work station is mobile so you guys with…[Read more]

I had no idea that blue stuff was supposed to come off , I just assumed it was peeling off like my AAG was. With that said , it did break in half in less than 2 weeks so I’m sure I would have eventually figured it out if I could use it anymore.

That makes sense , but as far as the blue one goes , it may as well be metal because it definitely isn’t see through. I found a few metal 1/2 in wide by 6in long metal rulers on amazon for around $5, may try one of those. <!–more–>

I had no idea the older models were metal, that seams perfect. Any idea why they moved to plastic? Cost I assume. I may try to find a small thin metal ruler or something similar and drill holes in it.

I have only used the advanced alignment guide maybe 3 times and the blue one that comes with the system maybe 10 times and both are almost useless now. The blue one broke in half and the advanced alignment guide has lost almost all the backing so I can’t read the letters or numbers anymore from putting it in and out of the slot in the case. I h…[Read more]

I understand they do two different things, one mostly polishes and the other removes a finite layer of metal. With the balsa wood and leather strops I already have I think the lapping films will assist in getting me to the Edge I want more efficiency than a bunch of different leather, balsa strops sprayed with varying micron grit sprays or pastes.
