Thanks again I got the Tormax and it worked great you do have to be careful how you center it. Maybe the WE crew can come up with something similar as Iβll be using this for my smaller pocket knives also. Simple to mount and it works well in the Gen3 jaws.
Thanks guys looked it up and now I know what the ricasso area is :silly: was wondering about the Schrades and why the sedge didn’t go all the way back to the handle! Always learning something here. Can’t wait for my son to drop of the SAR and see what I can do. Thanks again for the tips.
Thanks. I have 4 of them ( one from China) all 4 came with different bevels. Can’t wait for the new clamp it will make sharpening these a whole Loy wasier
AUS8, on the last one. It seems to be on finer grits. But will try wetting the stones, double check my mounting and slow down and concentrate.. Stones have been through about 30 knives so I bet it’s something I’m doing to cause it (usually is)
The entire knife. I started with sand paper it seems like that will be a long process. I like Cliff’s suggestion of the bench grinder! Now to save some pennies for one and learn some more
As a Newbee I have a variety. I played with a Cutko and tried to find the angle but it was either to high or low so I assumed it was Hollow. It is now a sharp V
Tanks for your time TC. My problem is me π I caught the tip a couple of times when bringing the stones back and changed the horizontal position. Just have to learn to take my time and be patient!
Thanks for the tips and info. Still having a bit of a problem holding it in the vise. Don’t want to over tighten and bend the jaws. Did 19 dis & don’t have any arm hair left π may try some matting next time.
