After 4 messages left, over as many days, at WE,….I got a return call this morning,……..at 5:00 AM my time. Mainland people often don’t seem to grasp the concept of time zones.
08/03/2023 at 3:05 pm #58673Thanks. Yes, those are them. I don’t recall using them, nor see them on the WE site. Did they fall out of favor?
03/27/2015 at 3:46 am #24725BTW, I’ll give you $100 for that “ruined” knife. :cheer:
03/27/2015 at 3:45 am #24724Josh,
What about using Frog Tape instead of blue painters tape? It holds a better paint line, preventing bleeding by the paint.
03/04/2015 at 10:20 am #24067Well, lawyers charge $500-$1000/hour. What’s your time worth, and how long will it take you? 🙂

02/23/2015 at 3:52 am #23790Cliff,
WOW! Where are you getting your lapping film? I thought that you were using those from WEPS: http://www.wickededgeusa.com/product-category/stropping-supplies/page/2/.
Yours are so much more reasonable in cost. Do they have a sticky backing like WEPS, or do you use double sided tape, or something else?
02/22/2015 at 10:07 pm #23781Cliff,
How do you save and store the strips for re-use, or do you have glass platens for every size micro strips?
02/22/2015 at 9:20 am #23761Nice work Cliff! Saweet. 🙂
02/17/2015 at 5:08 am #23448Thanks Josh. My Tormek should be here Wed., just wondered if I would need to strengthen it’s metal mounting apparatus in order to stabilize it better. Thanks.
02/17/2015 at 3:52 am #23444Thank you Josh! Nice edge and tip.
I have a couple Q’s:
1. When you were tweaking the knife back and forth in the Tormek to set the angles, I believe, initially, the knife hadn’t been locked in as you adjusted back and forth, but then you did seem to lock it down with the Tormek strap, and then still adjusted the angle. Did this last adjusting either risk bending the jaws of the WE, or bend the Tormek metal mount that was in the WE?
2. Even with supporting the blade as you sharpen, does the Tormek give enough rigidity to the knife to prevent angle changes during the sharpening process of scrubbing? Do you re-check the blades angle during the sharpening process?
Thank you!
02/12/2015 at 3:02 am #23313Thanks 1980. I try to place more pressure on the rear of the stone as I approach the tip, so to not round it, but the tip just never looks as good as yours. My stones are new though, maybe with more time.
02/11/2015 at 11:00 pm #23301lwaller1980,
Very nice! How do you get your tip so perfect? I’d love to see a video with explanation on how you accomplish it. Great work.
02/05/2015 at 9:41 pm #23134Exactly Josh.
Although you may spend 15-30 min/stone, just video 30 sec to 1 minute of each stone’s use. On the video, describe that you spent 15 minutes and 500 strokes or swipes per side with the 100 stone (with maybe 10 swipes/side alternating X 300, then right/left X 200, or whatever you do) , but show only 30 sec to 1 minute demonstrating what you did.
