Been waiting for the AAG a while now.. but $44.54 for shipping a bit of plastic seems a bit…..
03/27/2016 at 3:45 am #32706cbwx34 – gladly! However, I don’t have the “results” yet, as I just figured out how to sharpen this knife. Don’t have necessary tools yet – just ordered a set of ceramics and strops yesterday. Once it arrives, I’ll try to take a photo of the finished edge. Setup looks like this (this is an approximation)
Hia
My guess you might get a hard time when it comes time for touch up
You also might want the Advanced alignment guide many of us waiting for
03/13/2016 at 11:45 pm #31939Any news about the alignment guide?
03/13/2016 at 9:34 am #31929The stones are used for about 15-20 knifes cbwx.
Yes saw that after I posted it Mark, sorry about that.03/13/2016 at 1:11 am #319245u(micron) paste would be first as its more coarse…. then 3.5u which is more fine. Recommend lowering the angle 2 full degrees to prevent rounding and blunting the apex of edge. If you are going for a mirror polish you will most likely need a few additional steps between the 1000 grit diamonds and the 5u paste…Hope that helps. Aloha
I tried on a Reeve insingo to gett mirror but didnt get there, used 12/1600 stones before the 5u and 3,5u strops
Im thinking of getting some diamond lap films to use inbetween the 1000 and 1200 stones.
It seems a big different when looking at Clays pics in https://knife.wickededgeusa.com/forums/topic/super-blue-steel/page/3/#post-31678What films should I get do you think?

01/04/2016 at 10:45 am #30280I newer feel the need of cleaning the diamond stones, only the ceramic.
I wet the stones on a sponge neatly soaked with water and dish soap, as Clay suggested in a vid, to keep them moistened and keep of the steel dust.
After using i wipe them of with the same sponge and draw them on a towel, I’l keep em on the towel as I use the next pair of stones so they dry a bit until I store them in the shelf, not in a plastik bag!
01/04/2016 at 5:33 am #30276Thanks CCC 🙂
Next time i have to go even further with the 1200 stone to get the factory scratches out
01/03/2016 at 6:53 am #30251Alan thats what I use to, no problem with rust or metal dust.
RazorEdgeKnives, that with tipping the knife down worked well, now the insingo is sharp, i started with 1000 and went down to 0,5. I see that the factory skratces are there, didnt notised them before 🙂
I went from 21 to 20 to 19 degree angle to get it a bit convex
