I’d love to hear more about this. The idea of repeatedly moving the angle adjustment to make facets and then attempting to strop to blend the multiple hard angles seems like a kludge at odds with the design goals of the WE (repeatability, convenience, etc).

Gaak no! Please don’t put a secondary bevel on your Barkies, it will completely change the edge geometry Mike’s team designed the blade to have.

You should be able to keep the convex edge sharp with regular stropping, or for more substantial work using sandpaper on top of leather or thin rubber. Gently!

Perhaps there’ll be a WEPKS solution for convex edges in the future, but for now my Bark River knives are staying out of the clamp.

But note his question was about diamond stones; and with all the forum posts I’ve read about folks who have become disenchanted with their ceramics I wonder the same thing.

The Pro-Pack III I just received had a set screw included with the LAA, in addition to the flat head screw pre-installed . I found this thread while looking to explain its presence.

I just got my Benchmade 940-1501 (CPM-20CV and blue G-10; pretty) back from ApostleP. He did the choil mod to accommodate the location of the plunge grind, which I didn’t know about until I’d watched this video. 4 week turnaround, beautiful edge.

My ProPack III arrives later this week; it’l be a while before the stones (and I) are ready to work on anything this nice.
