Do you have any way to compare it to an original blade just to be sure how sharp it should be?
12/31/2013 at 1:50 am #16245A blender or food processor blade?
12/18/2013 at 11:10 am #16038Nice Mac. I play the lottery when I get lucky like that.
It’s supposed to be in the middle 70’s come Saturday and sunny. I’m only about 200 miles south of you. Hope you get some of that weather.
11/17/2013 at 12:29 pm #15781Must’ve been the beautiful weather that have folks feeling generous. I experienced the same type of day. Plenty of pocket knives and a 7 knife customer late in the day. I was able to finish her knives by 3:30 and pack up. Made enough for today to pay for my bag of oranges, hot dog and water, a bail of hay for the neighbors dog, and a 20 gauge pump shotgun that was priced just right.
Beautiful ring find there Max. I’d post on Youtube but they managed to screw that up. Every time I find something easy on the computer, some genius tries to justify their existence and screws it up, like leaving comments to your video’s.
11/10/2013 at 2:26 am #15714I’ll have to look into that Dino stand. I do like how this unit works though.
After loosing that little disk inside my computer, I tried downloading the information from the site. Gave up after 3 tries and waited until morning when I retrieved the disc and loaded the info. It was a snap in comparison to the site.
11/08/2013 at 6:18 pm #15706Henckels made several folders. Mostly multiblade smaller pocket knives from what I’ve seen.
11/07/2013 at 9:36 pm #15688Thanks Leo,
I got a reply from Henckels. They want pictures with the Henckels logo on the blade so they can send this info to Germany. I got it all together and sent it of. I hope the can see the logo.Attachments:11/07/2013 at 9:31 pm #15686No, he was just a customer. Never can tell if they mean what they say. There always a chance that he’ll show up, but who knows when.
11/07/2013 at 5:26 pm #15681Two more pics.

Something’s wrong.
11/01/2013 at 6:04 pm #15602I attempted to shave a few strokes yesterday and the results were that I didn’t cut myself and yes it shaved close, but pulled some.
I honed it some more after looking at the edge through my 100x microscope, after which, I did see some improvement. I really didn’t expect much from this edge yet as I don’t have a strop. After this mornings honing it did shave hairs off the underside of my fore arm with less effort than yesterday.
Comparison of what I shaved yesterday with this razor on my right check and a throw away safety razor on my left check is that my right check still seems smooth and my left check is spouting a bit of stubble.
11/01/2013 at 2:38 am #15597Outstanding work on that restoration.
10/31/2013 at 8:57 am #15573I haven’t yet tried the HHT, but might do it after my morning shower. My eye’s have a hard time seeing these fine strands of white hair. I did run the razor across my arm held about 1/4″ off the skin and knocked down some hairs.
I may try a stroke or two when I shave, but I’m not experienced at all with using a straight razor.
Yes, it did take a long time to do, in comparison to knife sharpening, but in my mind I ended up with a fine product I enjoyed achieving. I’m looking forward to the next one.
10/31/2013 at 8:40 am #15572Grade/quality of steel?
10/31/2013 at 1:58 am #15567This is the final picture of this old razor. it’s been honed using .3um film wet as the final honing. It’s not been stropped yet, but does shave the fine hairs off the underside if my arms.
If you look close you might be able to see the pits in this blade that were at the very edge and made it look like a hacksaw blade.
I attempted to buff it some, but soon decided it was too dangerous with my buffer so this is all it gets.
