What I would like to know is how you guys deal with cross contamination when using the SWAT with the STROPS?
What do you recommend? Is it OK to just clean the SWAT with alcohol every time you change STROPS or use painters
tape and change the tape when changing STROPS? :huh:
What works best for me is to use the sandpaper after the 1000 diamond stone and strops after the sandpaper.
I either use the sandpaper or the ceramics but I never use them combined.
Like I said at the beginning, that’s what I feel works for me, try experimenting yourself and find what you feel works best for you.
That is the beauty and the joy of sharpening.
When I go away for a couple of days of hunting or fishing I just throw in my pack a DMT double sided stone Fine/Extra Fine.
If my knives are already sharp (WickedEdged) most of the time they will just need a touch-up, which you can do with some light strokes on the DMT stone.
When I get back home, I put the knives back on the WickedEdge to restore the edges.
