    That makes sense , but as far as the blue one goes , it may as well be metal because it definitely isn’t see through. I found a few metal 1/2 in wide by 6in long metal rulers on amazon for around $5, may try one of those. <!–more–>

    The guide is clear but has a blue protective film that should be peeled off. 🙂

    @ Marc H…very innovative. Does the “Marc H AAG” sit perpendicularly to the base…i.e., parallel to the blade?

    Actually,  the AAG is parallel to the vice’s jaw line, and the base.  The blade is not parallel because it’s rotated some to optimize the sharpening efficiency.  Each knife I position as needed to best utilize the “sweet spot.”
