Is Stropping the same as using lapping?

    No, don’t back off the angle setting with films.  Lapping films are just an ultrafine diamond sharpening stone.  It’s best to use them in an edge trailing stroke, that is up then off the knife edge.  This edge trailing stroke is the same stroke used with the strops.

    No, lapping film is used  like a stone but with edge trailing stokes so you don’t cut the film. You will want to check your angle with the cube as the glass plate may be a little thinner and angle adjustment may be required to be the same as the last stone.
