Following “tcmeyer’s” suggestion that he uses a “Swifter” to wipe the metal dust from the blade as he is sharpening. I had these in my closet so I gave these “Pledge Dust and Allergen Unscented Dry Cloths” a try. They really do a great job picking up and holding the blade dust and metal filings. The disposable paper cloths fold up into a thick soft square and don’t cut or shred as I wipe it across the sharp blade while keeping my fingers a safe distance from the sharp edge. They wipe cleanly leaving not metal dust or lint that I can see under the USB Scope and hold the black metal dust tightly. I have only used them dry.
