Update they replaced it no hesitation. Really wanting a Gen3 clamp! Is it worth the upgrade? Seems like the majority of knives I get are FFG and that new clamp looks like it would make it easier clamping those type of blades.
I just did the exact same thing last Monday! I have been doing a few reverse stokes before I switch stones to ensure I get all the scratches out and I knocked the stone out of my hand and ZIP went my thumb across the blade. Lots of blood.
Just watched the video of the new jaws and that think looks SWEET! Will it eliminate the hassle of clamping a FFG blade? I know this thread is for a pass around but I just wanted to comment on that new clamp.
wepsflana, great point as I do want my sharpening to speak for itself not what I use. also most people aren’t going to know the Wicked Edge name anyway.

I did 18 knives for my sister and parents. My mom rolled the edge of her chefs knife on a GLASS cutting board not 5 minutes after I finished it. I know what to get her next year now.
WOW. This thing is sweet and I’m only on my second knife! It’s so simple to use. I ran a cheap paring knife from 200 thru the ceramics and it just shreds paper like crazy! Can’t wait to work up to some of my nicer blades.
