Thank you for taking the time to post these pics. Many people view this forum while researching the wicked edge system. Pictures are proof of what this system is capable of producing. If posting pictures was made easier, a lot more members would do so, myself included.
02/06/2017 at 9:32 am #37166I use newsprint paper cut into strips. whenever I’m at store I grab the auto shopper, boat shopper, home shopper at the exit for my test strips. Using a razor knife cut the binding edge off, and you have loose sheets of paper. Each sheet becomes 5-6 two inch strips. The ultimate test is to hold the strip in one hand only and run the overhang down the blade. As your knife gets scary sharp it will slice the paper. At first the paper might buckle or tear. Do some more strokes and try again. I do this with the blade mounted in the vice while sharpening and it provides undeniable proof of sharpness. Always try to cut the paper before sharpening to use as baseline sharpness\dullness indicator.

01/17/2017 at 10:45 am #36703I clean my stones after 5-6 knives. I use Windex and a sonicare toothbrush. I have not seen any rust spots at all.
01/02/2017 at 6:38 pm #36449My .6micron white ceramic stones look grey after one knife sharpening. I use my sonic care toothbrush with an old brush head and Windex to clean them up. Takes about a minute each stone and they look brand new again.
01/02/2017 at 3:09 pm #36434Try cleaning them with Windex and a toothbrush. Hopefully that helps.
12/30/2016 at 8:25 am #36376I started using a standard Allen wrench for the angle bar adjuster screws. The wicked edge key was awkward to use against the granite base. I am careful to not overtighten the screws and they haven’t loosened up since. just take the time to check them at each stone change.

12/28/2016 at 9:42 am #36323There is a learning curve. Don’t try to go as fast as you see on the videos. The first couple of knives should be done in slow motion. Your brain will learn the motions and it will become second nature. While learning I wanted to go as fast as the videos and the stones contacted, one fell from my hand and I almost cut the tip of my finger off! Lucky for me it was just a scratch. I then slowed down and proceeded with caution. Now the motions feel natural and controlled. You have all the time in the world to safely learn your wicked edge.
12/23/2016 at 6:02 pm #36273Reading is the best way to get to know the wicked edge. Search for Knife placement and practice on some old knives. I watched the videos on utube and learned a good lesson. Start out SLOW! It will take a few hours to get the feel of the sharpening motion. Take your time, use precision when placing the stones to the knife. You will notice the difference after 6-7 knives in the stones breaking in. Be extra careful while learning, you will be better off in the long run.

Thank You for sharing your knowledge
12/20/2016 at 8:58 pm #36241Yes I sharpened it freehand but I used the wicked edge stone.
Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all
12/15/2016 at 3:22 pm #36211I did not clamp it, just held it in my left hand. It was a bit awkward, but a fun challenge.
12/02/2016 at 9:27 am #36132I recently got a pro pack2 and after breaking in the stones on old kitchen knives I used my sonicare tooth brush with an old brush head to clean all my stones. I used windex glass cleaner and the stones and ceramics looked brand new again. Thanks to everyone here for sharing their knowledge and expierience with the wicked edge system. My Henckels twin pro knives are now sharper then the day the left the factory.I could not have done it without the help of this forum.
