I have only used one side of my strops so far as I am still occasionally getting a little cut from an accidental downward stroke or more often letting the strop run off the end of the knife and having the tip dig into the leather.

However for my needs so far the cut strop, while a little bumpy, still does a good enough job.

 

Marc thanks for the reminder that replacement leather is available so inexpensively.  I plan on ordering the 1500/glass stone/platen set and will make sure I get a few replacements pieces.

The product arrived yesterday, the ship notification arrived today 🙂

My impression after a quick look .

1. Oh heck yeah for my purposes WORTH THE WAIT!
2. Bigger than I thought (owned a sharpmaker since the early 90s)
3. Good value for the money.
4. The deluxe bag is very clever with the space for the extra paddles (I also ordered 800/1000 & strops).

My hats off to the design team, you did a good job and it already exceeds my expectations.

I will write a review as a I use it.

So can we assume all of September’s orders have shipped (Sept 16th 002507)?

I have a drawer full of dull knives waiting for some Wicked TLC.  Hell I have an early Benchmade AFCK that has never had a decent edge, even from new.

Clay would it be possible to give some kind of updates for shipping window on the forum like you just did?

Something as simple as  your “We’ve shipped all the pre-orders placed up through Aug 15”

Since I have packages shipped to a 3rd party address I feel like a kid hounding the postman for my secret decoder ring every time I show up there looking for a package.  Which I have been doing with increasing frequency since people starting talking about getting their GO.

Also can you tell us if the Go is shipping UPS or USPS?

I ordered Sept 16th
