Sharpmaker? My 1st guess is you can’t get the knife sharp at the tip because the edge is very obtuse. You can confirm that by looking through a loupe and see that the stones are only touching the shoulder. If your using the sharp maker you’ll either need to spend a lot of time on the course stones at the tip to even the bevel with the rest of the edge or hold the knife at an angle as if your trying to cut into the rods while you sharpen the tip.
06/26/2012 at 7:51 pm #3675What kind of low grits are we talking about? I think I got a hair whittling edge at 2000 or 2500 grit sandpaper taped to my Wicked Edge stones at 15 degrees.
05/07/2012 at 7:22 am #3064When experimenting with these strong magnets, guys, please be careful, don’t hold a really strong magnet & try to remove shavings out of the pivot area. Imagine a small 20lb magnet pulling your finger into a razor sharp blade because you held it too close. Once you get the magnet close enough to steel it will yank it out of your grip before you know it. Now a 38kg magnet is 83lb’s, even more dangerous. I also got a magnet stuck on a brand new blade & it was impossible to pull the magnet off & I had to slide it off the edge of the blade which made a very noticeable long scratch in my brand new just sharpened knife.
The best way to keep shavings out of your pivot while sharpening is to tape up the pivot area.I was going to order some bigger magnets from that German site but surprisingly they do not ship to USA. They have almost every other country on their list except America.
04/01/2012 at 8:10 pm #2350Thank you so much! I received my replacement vise 4 days after calling Wicked Edge, it already had a prepaid return shipping label inside the box too. I noticed the new one was a dull matte finish compared to my original glossy finish. I also weighed the old & new & the replacement weight quite a bit more. I measured the dimensions & all are the same, except the new one had one that was slightly shorter than the other so it does not line up perfectly at the top like the originals did.
Here is a pic
02/07/2012 at 4:25 pm #1570I received my replacement vise within a week of calling & talking to Bob. The replacement sent was said to be from a new batch of “re hardened” ones. The one I got had a dull matte black chalkboard type of finish, the original vise I had was a shiny, smooth, black. Was the color change to differentiate between the old & new vises, or did they get re hardened butnot re anodized; Ive sharpened several knives & I notice that I don’t have to tighten the screws in as much for the blade to be secure. I just tighten the top screw till snug & turn the bottom screw 1/4 turn, & that is tight enough to keep the blade secure. On my old vise I’d have to turn the bottom screw 1/2-1 full turn for the knife to be tight. Ⓣⓗâ“â“â“šâ“¢ Ⓖⓤⓨⓢ!
01/18/2012 at 9:00 pm #1391Add me to the list of bent vises. I’ve had mine for exactly a month now but noticed my bevels were larger on the right side of my knife for the last 2 knives I sharpened yesterday. I just now noticed why. Ill call tomorrow & request a replacement. Wouldn’t steel be cheaper to use instead of aluminum? I know it would definitely be stronger.
12/31/2011 at 9:48 am #1259Thanks Leo for the suggestions, I will try to implement people’s suggestions in my future vids that I plan on filming soon. I’ll try to shorten my future recordings also as this vid took 11 hours to upload.

12/16/2011 at 2:23 pm #1163Phone order #1743 Has shipped today, Expected delivery 19DEC2011. I am glad I will get my WEPRO & Accessories by Christmas! ☻ Ⓣⓗâ“â“â“šâ“¢ Ⓖⓤⓨⓢ! ☺
12/08/2011 at 2:16 pm #1115I called in to see if the order was still on schedule for delivery & I should have a tracking number by the 16th of December. As long as I have my Pro Pack by Christmas I’ll be happy. I couldn’t wait to sharpen my knives so I ended up buying the Gatco Ultimate Diamond System for $89 at Cabela’s. I have gotten blades very sharp (by taping sandpaper up to 3000 grit & a leather strop with white & red rouge chalk to the Gatco ceramic hone) , now I will have something to compare the Wicked Edge Pro to. I already have a few coworkers waiting for me to get the WE so I can sharpen their knives for $5 each.
11/30/2011 at 5:46 am #994@babo what is COB?
If some people are having to wait weeks & months are they being charged when they order or charged when the items are about to ship?
I am hoping that I won’t have to wait as long as the past orders have been. On the WE product description it says that all orders by 12/15 will be delivered by Christmas, so hopefully my order on 11/18 will be delivered in the 3 week timeframe I was quoted, 4 weeks max.11/25/2011 at 6:00 pm #958Quick question, I ordered the WEPRO1 on the phone on 11/18/2011 & was told a 3 week delivery since all items were in stock & you just needed to fulfill the backorders then mine would be shipped. I was wondering if it was 3 weeks till the order is shipped or 3 weeks for delivery? The order # is 1743.
