Okay, here’s the link: http://youtu.be/3-YP9hnd6Nc. You’d think that I would know enough to hang onto the handle of the knife while releasing the lever… 😳

That’s so awesome, Clay! I Assumed correctly in thinking you would use the professional series when coming up with ideas for designing the new clamp. I’m very excited to see where things go from here.

    Thank you so much, sir!!!

I can’t believe I’m even thinking of what you’re probably going to price it at considering I haven’t even purchased the upgraded arm kit :cheer:

Also, what about having the lever shortened a bit and clamping to the left rather than the right? Or is that even possible given the mechanics of the clamp? And maybe machining it in such a way that it lays flush on the front of the sharpener when it’s fully engaged?

This is excellent. Takes the ultimate sharpening system to a whole new level.

I’m not sure of the pricing yet. It should be able to go right or left handed, would require just a different orientation for the cam, not too big a deal. The lever needs to be pretty long to give enough leverage to operate the clamp.

How do you mean about laying flush in front of the sharpener when fully engaged?

That indeed looks very nice! Awesome. Great engineering work, again, Clay!

And happy that Spyderco did not cause any harm 😉

Not a great plan to drop a razor sharp knife into your lap… :silly:

    Clay,
How would something like a removable sliding T handle, or a bolt head on adjuster, Then users could us a wrench or a Ratchet to tighten or loosen.

That is so ingenious… great job to all your engineering team and machine shop Clay!

I think it is a simple but outstanding design. two questions:

Does this limit the lower angle limit more than the regular vise (looks more square-ish)?
Can you do big knives like an Esee Junglass (sometimes I have to clamp these deeper in the vise)?
