    Hi folks

Just bought myself a reasonable set of wood chisels (you know the kind you DON’T abuse or use as a prybar etc!!)

Is the Chisel adaptor compatible with the generation 3 clamp?

Looking at the pictures I would think it is but would like to check and get conformation before I consider pulling the trigger on one

    Cheers

I checked mine tonight and found that if I bottomed the chisel adapter out in the Gen 3 vise, it was no problem. If I used the high or low position key position, I could move the adapter in the vise.  Please note that the chisel adapter doesn’t provide a means to sharpen the back side of a chisel.

I recall being asked once before, but this time I actually checked – the maximum width blade/chisel the adapter will hold is 2.0 inches.  Wouldn’t you know it?  The only hand plane blade I have is 2-1/32″.  But I think it would be a simple matter to screw the blade (after all, they’ve got a hole in the middle) to a simple block with parallel sides.  Use my Angle cube to get them parallel to each other.  No prob.
