Well.. I have reached that speed yet, but…. more importantly, here is my question.  I see they offer gloves, I purchased some.  They are just not comfortable for my fat little hands.  And I know its just a matter of time, before I cut myself. Has anyone done a lot of testing on gloves, are there any out there that are very comfortable, and don’t restrict movement in your fingers.  Or is that just the nature of the beast, any anti cut material won’t be very flexible? Any tips suggestions appreciated, because I do enjoy trying to m0ve the stones in a fast motion at times.

I purchased these. Make sure to get correct size for your hand though. Mine are a little tight.

I ordered small should have got medium

I purchased the XL from wicked edge,  #1 to small   #2 stif in the fingers.    The ones you purchased, how comfortable are they?  I thought maybe there is a high end version of these that are very comforable.  If it’s not comfortable, I’ll end up not using it.

I have ones similar to Pinkfloyd and I’ve used others too. They work well against cuts (NOT stabs). But as the OP stated, they’re uncomfortable. They’re too thick, maybe not fitting, etc. I don’t use them anymore. I take the risk of cutting myself (which is not that large – I use a WE for 4 years now and have never cut myself. Just be a little careful.)

And 409 strokes per minute? Are you sure? I’m a pretty accomplished sharpener with a WE. In the beginning I used to count strokes, but not anymore. I will try to do it again, but I think I will end up with 50-100 strokes per minute (per side, semi-horizontal strokes).

Its hard for me to judge comfort, because mine are too small. Comfort is subjective to each individual, they don’t hurt to wear them. When I get larger size they will be “more comfortable”, will more than likely be more apt to wear them. Material of WE gloves looks to be same as the No Cry gloves. If your not comfortable with them, probably wont be with No Cry either.

I was joking about the speed.  But, I think I will try the shields.      Do not try any fast maneuvers at home kids!

Haven’t needed a Band-aid since I started using the shields.
