Using iPhone Carpenter Angle/plumb App

I have a carpenter app on my phone that measures angles using the accelerometer. I was thinking this could be used instead of the angle reader. Does anyone else have experience with that app?

I have tried a similar type app on an android phone.  For me, it was not as convenient or user friendly as a Digital Angle device made for this application.  A couple issues I had were holding my expensive smart phone against a scratching abrasive surface that will mar the finish.  The phone is not magnetic, like the angle cube, so it must be held in place which makes it a little more difficult to use and the shape was not as ergonomic as the cube.  Lastly, I couldn’t get the precision, accuracy and repeatability with the phone app that I did with the angle cube.
