Hi there! I got a brand new glass platens pack. One is fine, another is glued askew. I wonder, if that one have to be replaces or is it safe to use?

I wouldn’t use it like that, if for no other reason than it’s going to affect the sharpening angle.

I think I see layout lines along the left and bottom edge.  Normally, the last step is to grind these edges until the layout lines are gone; a signal that the platen will snugly fit in the pocket.   Looks to me like they skipped that last bit of sizing.

Call Kyle at Wicked Edge.  They’ll get you a replacement in short order.

Thin black line? It’s a marker on the back of diamond film. Glass size appears to be fine. Film fit it with zero tolerance. It simply looks like it was glued to handle tiny bit off center, so glass didn’t go in to plastic slot on one side.

I’d put some gloves on and see if I could push it over and pop it in.

If pushing it over doesn’t get it into place, give us a call and we’ll get you a new one ASAP.

It worked! I was surprised how easy is snapped back in. Just a little pressure and glass clicked into the slot.
