    Guys,

what are the rags that you all use to wipe the knives after sharpening? Looking for something really tough and does a great job,

    thanks

I use micro fiber cloths used for cleaning vehicles.  They are washable and take off oil from blades very well (“click” Here).

After sharpening is complete I usually use a clean shop rag and rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle.  I also keep a box of lens cleaner packets close by.  I think the box of 500 was $5 and I use them more than I thought I would.  They are individually packaged lint free cloths soaked in isopropyl alcohol.

I also keep a can of electronic spray cleaner around and a can of green brake cleaner to flush out some of the less delicate pieces as needed.  Always makes me leery using the more industrial juice but never had a problem and it works well at flushing out grease n gunk.

Usually microfiber cloths as well. Sometimes with a bit of Windex if the cloths alone don’t work well enough.
