Hi Bob thanks for the info, this forum is great.

i have 100-1000grit stones from wicked edge and then i take 2000 and 2500 water grind paper (ore what its called in english 🙂 )and then i wrap it on the 1000grit stone and start to polish, finaly i juse leather strop by hand. But for best result i think its better not to do the stropping by hand for right angle.
    thanks martin

    Hi Martin,

I agree with Bob. If you want to get shiny edges, a leather strop with one of the Wicked Edge pastes is the way to go. If you want to get the edge sharper, go for the ceramic stones. That works way faster than stropping. And if you want to get your edges sharper and shiny, get them both :-).

    Martin,

Great job on a great knife. I am a big Ka-bar fan. They charge a very fair price for great blades. Nice steels, well made, excellent designs. I wish more knife makers would take their lead and do the same. There are so many ‘big name / respected names’ just making average blades and putting crazy price tags on them. They are just selling you a name for 4x what Ka-Bar wants for really good stuff!

I am glad you put the effort into your Ka-Bar. Keep up the good work! -Dan

Wow! That is a great job! I have a BK-16 since a few weeks and I love it. It is a great knife, only the handle isn’t perfect. Which you fixed… beautiful!
