I recently received my Pro-Pack and have been delighted thus far. I have however noticed a few dimples on one of my 800 grit stones. They’re minor, but enough that I can catch the blade on them. Has anyone else had a similar issue? My initial thought was that maybe as the stones broke in they’d smooth out. I’ve probably sharpened around 10 knives with no drastic improvement. I even took a junk knife and worked the dimple over it repeatedly hoping to level it out. I can’t tell if it’s impacting my edges or not. I’ve attached a crappy picture taken with my cell phone through a 20x jewler’s loupe.

Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi David,

I haven’t seen that before, it looks like the nickel layer might have some imperfection. You might try rubbing the 800# stones together lightly a few times to see if you can work it out. If it does cause you problems, just let us know and well take care of it.
