Well, I am one day into my WE Obsidian.  Had to work a while this am, but was able to review all the videos on the WE66.  This  afternoon, I figured the edge angles and touched up one of my Benchmade EDCs after putting a real edge on some of my old
Kershaw Leeks that I use fishing.  All of those will now cut braided line without thinking about it.  I then brought out a knife a customer of my Dad’s had given him 50 years ago.  I think he had made it himself.  It had Kit Carson on the blade.  I had never been able to get a decent edge on it with a whetstone.  It now has one for the first time.  I then pulled out an old Buck 110 which is close to 50 years old and put a real edge on it for the first time.  Had I had it sharp back in high school when I cleaned the only three deer I ever cleaned, I might still be deer hunting.  I decided back then that there was too much work involved after I or someone else pulled the trigger(it was way before we had deer processors).

Well, I am definitely a pleased new WE66 owner.  No trace of buyer’s remorse here.  I recently bought a much less expensive system which works well, but would take a lot more effort and time to get the same results. It will be relegated to fishing and hunting trips.  The Obsidian requires so little effort, it is hard to believe the results.  I can’t wait for my wife to dull up the kitchen knives a little!

    Happy customer!

Welcome to the Wicked Edge family, RCH! I’m glad to hear that you are enjoying your WE66 Obsidian. I remember when I got my first Wicked Edge sharpening system, I was looking for knives, scissors, and everything that I could find to sharpen up. I recommend getting a set of 50/80 stones for when you have to do some reprofiling, especially for chisels. Your shoulders will thank you.

The WE66 Obsidian is a GREAT option. IMO, it’s the best bang-for-your-buck$$ model that Wicked Edge offers!
