OK. New to the system and so far I’m basically just breaking in the stones on Ikea knives (these come amazingly sharp out of a package for about $5, but man the angles are intense and the steel is SOFT).
Mostly messing with my 1k grit stones and finding sweet spots, mounting knives, etc. First thing I’m noticing is small knives like a leatherman seem kind of impossible. I expect to possibly upgrade to the ball joint arms with riser block eventually, maybe that will help.
But finding the sweet spot, and the effects of finding this spot…I understand that failure to find this spot will result in visually uneven bevels. Does this affect performance at all? For example, if the tip visually has a different visual bevel, does it also have a different edge angle overall?
Probably a noob question here, but there is surprisingly few videos out there that I can find on properly mounting knives in the WEPS, while there is comparatively a lot of videos showing actual sharpening techniques.
