Is the WE66 getting updated? It is missing from the site.
I’m sorry to share that WE has discontinued the WE66 Obsidian Model. It was removed from the 60 Series line-up.
That stinks
We absolutely love the WE66. It’s many on the team’s favorite sharpener but the manufacturing costs were so high that the price was too high for people to want to buy them. We barely had any margin in them and they didn’t sell well. We’re working on new concepts to release an updated design that maintains the great features but is more affordable to manufacture.

aerospace machinist here, what aspect of it do you need to be cheaper? was it mostly the micro adjust increasing cost? the overall structure is quite simple, i don’t see where there would be tons of bucks involved unless quantities were low.
as an aside, i’ll buy a WE66 right now if i could just.. find one. haha.
Check sharpening supplies or knife center. Or wait for the next model.
Is this something I can put on this year’s Christmas list or will it have to wait for the next one?
