Now that came out tremendously well! How far up the grit scale did you go there, that looks a lot more polished than the standard 3.5u that I’ve seen before.
Say, isn’t that a 10K Chosera finish? 
On both the Kershaw and the Benchmade, I used the standard diamond stones, then the ceramics and then the 5/3.5 strops and the 1/.5 strops. I think I may have gone on to the .25 strops but don’t remember now.
Funny you should ask… I happen to have two identical Benchmade Strykers and for fun, I sharpened one with all the Choseras and the other with the standard Wicked Edge array plus the ceramic stones and strops in 5/3.5/1/.5 and I think .25 microns. The one in the photo happens to be the one with all Wicked Edge stuff though it’s hard to tell the two apart.

I wonder how the CBN would look on the same size progression, compared to the diamond.

I do too. The only CBN I have right now is .125. I’d love to experiment with the full range, just need to convince Ken to get me some samples.

Leo Mitchell’scompetition knifeHaving two sides to the paddles definitely increases efficiency. Those two knives were really fun to sharpen. I realize now after doing the progressions on knives that I should have backed off the pressure on the strops. It’s a lesson I had learned on the last fall and then forgotten… :blink:
That is an insane edge. Love it!!! After reading the thread it looks like strops can hang with the super fine stones.

Chosera: 400#, 600#, 800#, 1000#, 2000#, 3000#, 5000# and 10000#
Strops: 1µm mono-diamond, .5µm mono-diamond, .25µm mono-diamond and .125µm CBN
