I’m going to cut him up and use him as a strop ![]()
I will lend you a hand with that…Dar needs a new purse! :cheer:

No kidding! 3rd #%$^ing web host and still issues!
Am I the only one that the site is really slow for? Is it on my end or are others having the same problem?
It was or has been exceptionally slow especially when I did my last post then it went crazy when I refreshed the page it went to the home page with microsoft translator across the top. It seems a little better now although I did a RACAL reset on my router since this needs a kick every so often which seemed to improve things.
Perhaps the server was busy normally Sundays it is quite quiet I guess Mondays everyone is back on the site.
Been bad for me too for several days.
Finally got to the bottom of it. Our webmaster moved the site to HostGator.com to get some more speed out of it. Apparently we have too much traffic for HostGator and they shut us down. Grrrr.
Fire that Gator!!! :side:
It is still painfully slow! I saw we had maintenance last night, but still slow this morning.
Lots of strength, Clay! It’s working again. Where are we running now?
It’s working again.
Hmm, only half. I agree with Curtis. ![]()
If it matters, I’m getting this now (a lot)…
It is painfully slow. We’re on another server now since HostGator didn’t like how much traffic we have. We’re looking into other dedicated server options now.
It is almost midnight now March 11 and I get intermittent successful connections.

9:00 pm California time and I’m getting server error #404. I’m just up a few minutes after Leo
This situation continues to be a big mess. Something has caused our resource usage to go through the roof. The web team is trying to see if we’ve been subjected to a brute force attack, maybe some kind of DDoS. We’re also looking into a new dedicated server. Sorry for all the disruption guys!
In spite of the glitches that happen too regularly I enjoy using this site and find it easier to use than some of the other knife sites and like all things it could be better but considering that i imagine compared to other sites that are larger and perhaps get some income through advertising or paid subscriptions from trade users it runs remarkable well . I suppose you could look in the future to take a small charge for subscribed agents but I think that will have to wait a little or until the full blown pro model has gone global.
I don’t know if it’s related, but it seems the “guest” count gets pretty high, especially for a forum as specific as this one…
Most forums I visit seem to be in the hundreds at any time, this one is in the thousands. Even after coming back on after being totally offline yesterday, I happened to catch it right when it came back, and it showed over 500 people. Don’t know what it is actually counting, just always struck me as weird.
Leo mentioned the same thing to me this weekend. That’s why we’re wondering about a brute force attack or something fishy in the code for the forum.
Oh look! Suddenly the number of guests is back to normal! “Curiouser and curiouser,” said Alice!
