did some work on my 12c27 “the SWEDE” and to another knife makers blade (seved) a zombie hunter with a kydex sheat. I air brushed with duracoat paint so it will stick real good and dont come off.

Very nice Martin! Thanks for sharing!

Wow, that is some detailed work. Nice. :cheer:

Nice work. How does the resharpening go… does the Duracoat cause any issues?

hope not …dont know yet…dont think so

Nice work!

It should sharpen off leaving a fairly clean edge/border at the bevel, but sometimes Duracoat doesn’t cooperate and chips or flakes. I think with a fine abrasive like a stone it should be okay. I keep meaning to do some experimenting with finishing knives and “sharpening off” the coloring right on the bevel, as if I’m not busy enough!

I have a lot of experience with different coatings for gun refinishing and honestly, I don’t like Duracoat at all. It’s a glorified paint and as such it has a lot of downsides, not the least of which is the thickness when applied compared to competing products. It’s a bit more work to heat cure it, but Cerakote is exceptionally tough and really puts Duracoat to shame in my opinion. Just my two cents though, a properly prepped and applied Duracoat can look great as we see here

ok, and yes we all have diferent thoughts  i realy like it on knife blades but i have not tried cera coat yet and maybe its better i dont know.

I sharpend it with 21 degrees, the duracoat was no problem so now its scary sharp again, i think the duracoat is hardend enogh now, and i will take it out in the forest to kill some trees

Wow, that looks incredible! Is that… a real knife?

yes its a real “badass” knife i made :)

Plain incredible. This is true art..

Do you have any “before” pictures of the knife?

its the blade to the right, before i put scales on it, ive got me 2 exactly of the same blade the other one has a rubber stall mat scales on it, the third knife is from a blade that bryan breeden made for me.

here i find some photos of them together, the one with rubber grip is sold and this one is also for sale if someone wants it.
