Any plans for a hard case for the new Gen 3 Pro?
This is in the works now. We’re just waiting on a sample of the new foam for the Gen 3 Pro to go into the hard cases. Once we get the sample and approve it, we’ll get some into production.
Excellent! I would be interested in one of these as well. The feedback I am getting from knives sharpened on my Gen 3 Pro has been outstanding!
Will it fit in the old gen 2 case with the new foam?

Yes, it’s the same case with different foam.

For those interested, what would be the best way to order one?
I would need foam and case as well.
Welcome to the forum, by the way, MorgueMD.
Thanks, just a novice here, but the WE Pro ten 3 makes sharpening up my dull kitchen knives easy.

Once they’re ready, we’ll have them on the site for sale or you’ll be able to call in for one. We’re anticipating 4 weeks until they’re complete.
Can anyone provide me with the dimensions/specs/model of the existing case? The photo on the WE website was a bit small and hard to read. I may wait for the updated one to be released, or may source my own to accommodate the extras that I want to fit and take with me. Thanks in advance!
Here’s a link to the specs: http://www.plasticase.com/gestion/pdf_en/940-0.pdf I’m not sure why the image is now showing so small. It should be much bigger. Yet another mystery to investigate…

Wow. I didn’t think the full Gen 3 Pro would fit. Looks great! There is room for other things, looks like. I assume the item in the top right is for the angle cube? I’ve always thought a case that had a place for some blue painters tape would be nice, since that is something we almost always use. Looks like the painters tape could fit right inside the shelves of the unit, among other items. Nice job, clay! Pretty sure I’m gonna have to get one.
That is the spot for the Angle Cube. The painter’s tape would probable fit in the slot directly above the jaws.
Very nice! I don’t suspect it would be difficult to DIY a slot for the low angle adapter?.
Also, there’s plenty of room for items like tape or cleaning clothes right on the shelves themselves. The more I look at this layout, the more I like.
It’s easy enough to make slots. The one directly above the jaws was designed to fit the Low Angle Adapter.
Look forward to ordering one of these cases
That looks great! I like the efficient use of the space. I had been shopping around for a larger Pelican to make my own to carry all my goodies, but may have to pick up one of these!

Clay, I have a suggestion on the custom foam for the Gen 3 Pro. My thought is make the custom foam so that the arm rods must first be removed. This would save a lot of space, since the large triangle in the middle of the foam would not be necessary. The rods could then be located together elsewhere in the case, sort of like folks do with their PP1 or PP2 systems.. I have found that I don’t even need a tool to remove the arm rods on my Gen 3 Pro, as I only hand tighten them.
Just a thought,
Alan
