having trouble finding the sweetspot on this shin-gunto, and where do i get guid rod lengtheners? 
hehe if it havent been so tough to clamp down it would be a fun project to sharpen in stages.
but i dont want to risk bending the clamp..

Awesome - looks like you might need a deeper desk :silly: in addition to longer guide rods - you are definitely outside the 17inch reach.
Probably good to keep that tip pointed toward the wall - if not, maybe tie a flag on the end so you don’t walk into it! (no more pics of stitches)
