Thanks for the input here. This is great feedback. Having never used either one, I was really having trouble comparing the specifications and images usefully. If I decided to purchase a WE66, I would have gotten the aluminum block and used it exclusively.
This definitely has me heading toward keeping the WE130. Much appreciate the response.

Hi all,
I purchased a WE130 recently and haven’t taken it out of the box just yet. I noticed today that there is a new WE66 Obsidian model that was recently released. Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate the feedback on the two bases. I don’t anticipate that I’ll end up with two sharpeners, but I never expected to have as many knives as I do either!!! Out of curiousity, why do you have two sharpeners? My curiosity is piqued.

I suppose I should have included photos of the base, which would have clarified my question better. I’m attaching photos to this message.

I recently purchased a WE-130 and a granite base and received both today. I was surprised to find that the granite base appears to be the old model that is sort of brown.
