I just ordered glass handles and  3 and 9 micron diamond lapping films.  I also have ceramic stones coming in Super Fine and Micro Fine.  I’m thinking the progression might be 1k diamond>Super Fine Ceramic>Micro Fine Ceramic>9 micron film>3 micron film>strop?  Would that progression work?

Also, I’ve read other abrasives could be used on the glass that would be less $.  Suggestions?  I’m also looking at Nanolap and see there are different grades of diamond lapping films, like 66P, 66HPX, etc.  Which grade should I be looking at?

The progression looks good. I’m not experienced with the Nanolap films so I can’t say which ones would work best though others with more experience with that product will hopefully chime in.
