Go on guys, fire away, how do you clean your stones?

Is there a recommend method or what?

I very seldom find the need to clean my diamond stones (100 – 1000 grit) but others here on the forum say they use alcohol. Also for their strops.  On a recommendation by Clay, I now use alcohol to clean my diamond films – seems to work really good.    For ceramic stones, I used Comet kitchen cleanser with a little water to make a paste, then scrubbed the stones with the paste and my fingers.  Then I switched to using the “Superaser” on the ceramics and it seemed to work just as well.    No need to deal with the wet mess.

As a side note, I am halfway convinced that a good part of the “dirt” I collect on my diamond films is Sharpie ink.
