Figured I’d spice it up a little bit and show some different knives and what I’ve been up to… all knives that have been reground get the WE treatment as they deserve nothing less and anything powered would destroy the nice thin edge I just created. You will see some before and some after pics. and just for the record, no tactical knives are not the only thing I work on lol… it’s just mainly all i get! hehe. :side: Enjoy!

This one was challenging to sharpen… good thing I had some custom mods to accomodate!!

Yes, the scales were anodized by me (well, my wife actually ;))

Here’s just a basic regrind w/ fixing the tip up somewhat:

This CQC-7 I just cerakoted it black then gave it the ‘ole stone progression up through my 1k’s!

And this ZT 0561… I cerakoted the Ti scale OD green then gave it a work over: Blade regrind w/ dual grind, hollow on main spanto/flat at tip, added finger choil, enhanced lock cut out. Look at the beaufiul nice thin Wicked edge!!

    Here’s a different ZT w/ same grind:

And now is another grind conversion… Emerson mini roadhouse!

And finally, just completed today, an Alphahunter Warhorse that had a recurve that was not supposed to be there! Fixed it w/ a regrind and mirrored the tip 😉

So much inspiration goodness…thanks for sharing your work Josh!

I started playing with my little 1×30 grinder for the first time today. Its a whole new skill set to learn for sure…

Do you use jigs and angle braces when reprofiling on some of these? Just curious how to work on getting smooth grind lines and profiles.

Love the extra thin edge bevel contrasting with the stonewashed(?) blade on that one btw! B)

Again WOW! Nice work man. I keep going back to that Emerson. Did you use a seperate oven for the Creakote? I thought about that awhile back when I was recoating a couple of guns, but my wife banned me from using her oven.

Yes I have a seperate oven in my shop that is controlled w/ a digital PID controller for close to exact temps… Works GREAT! But yeah it does put off a smell! Fortunately I don’t really notice as I wear a mask almost all of the time in my shop =)

No, it is all freehand =) I wanted to learn freehand because sometimes jigs just won’t work and you will be much more limited w/ jigs… although they do prevent messing up as much! It’s amazing how one little slip can mess something up on one of these!

Not to Krein level… yet… but I try! And yeah, she has learned a bunch about anodizing! She does great research about the different grades of Ti and what to do w/ them. I don’t have time for all that!

Ok, yeah! And I have seen a few shots of that dude’s regrinds. I’ll tell you this, side-by-side, I wouldn’t be able to peg his work over yours, so don’t sell yourself short…Seriously… And seriously.

So stoked about this… While Clay and the team have been going through their shop transition, I will be going through my own here shortly!! I currently am working out of an 8×16 enclosed trailer, so this will be SOOOO nice, and I can build a proper paint booth for Cerakoting =) This just got in yesterday… 12×40. I still have a ton of work to do before I can move in though… frame out paint booth and small room for my new air compressor, wire electrical, insulate, install mini split AC unit, etc hehe.
