I just finally got all the stuff for my new system. I have been having some trouble sourcing some marble/granite/quartz scrap. I was walking through Lowes last night trying to think of something to use and it hit me as I was walking by the lawn and garden area…a Paver!

I highly doubt that I’m the first to think of this, but I didn’t find any others using a search. I found the smoothest nicest looking paver I could find. I found a nice thick & heavy red one. It was $0.87. I then bought a 3/16″ masonry bit ($2.95) and a 1/2″ masonry bit ($3.95) to do the holes and countersinks. Here is the results. I’m digging it. I’ve since got a piece of leftover granite countertop, but I’d have to cut it and polish the edges…I’m going to just see how this works out.
