I’m new to WEP and have read most if not all the instructions on “How to”. One question I have concerns the burr and when you stop feeling for it or do you always get a burr no matter how high the grit or low the micron gets?

You only need to get the bur created on both sides of the bevel when you are reprofiling or sharpening with your first stone. Usually the 100 grit or if just sharpening could be the 400 grit. If you keep making a bur every single stone change you will work-harden the edge of the blade and make it brittle which can cause chipping.
