    For me, it was third finger, right hand as I was taking too-long strokes on my “High Mountain” jerky knife. Lesson learned? Always keep all five digits in contact with the stone’s handle.

    Luckily, no permanent marks. Sharp edges tend to leave an easy-healing wound. I hope yours heals as well.

    Check out tuffybraithwaite. He uses gloves which resist slicing. There are a number of good options out there.

    Also, there are cardboard sleeves available so you won’t have to tape up a sharpened blade. Someone here will point you to them.
