Some beautiful Laguiole knives

When I visited the German Knife Museum last week, I saw some of the most beautiful Laguiole knives I’ve ever seen. Here are some pics.

I didn’t ask what every handle was made of, but many of them are made from mammoth ivory. The third one from below in the top picture is made of coral.

Why did my parents imprint in my brains that you don’t pay almost a thousand euro’s for a knife?

In case your parents didn’t do this to you: the knives have been made by Uwe Goering. And this is his website, on which he offers some of his knives: http://laguiole-germany.de/ .

Wow! I guess the Germans are trying to teach the French a lesson…

Wow I have 2 Giles Laguiole and I can see this German maker is much finer on the decoration detail and does some fine handles.
Another really fine maker that Giles recommends is http://www.graveline-couteliers.com/spip.php?lang=en they do incredible objects d’art the knives are incredible .The same with some of Perceval knives http://www.perceval-knives.co.uk. I think Uwe - Graveline & Perceval are reaching the limit as with some of the Rockstead my Un for example they are too good to use but a pleasure to have and hold.

Those are some beautiful knives. Since I am not wealthy, thank goodness I am ~ impoverished that I may be delivered from (the) evil, of my lack of self restraint in pursuing the purchase of one or more of those beauties.
