What are your thoughts on sharpening a RTAK II? Long knife, not sure it’ll work in one stroke. Also, what angle (the database is down now…)

I don’t think you’ll have any problems dealing with the blade length. Mount the knife with the belly a little closer to the vise than just centered. If the belly is too far forward, you’ll see a change in bevel angle at the tip. Look at the videos describing “finding the sweet spot.” I’ve been sharpening a 12" jerky knife without problems, but it’s just a straight edge with no belly to deal with.
If you intend to baton the knife, as with camp chores, you might be better off to use a more obtuse angle - maybe 22 to 25 dps, so the edge stands up to the abuse.
I don’t do knives that large on my WEPS unless I set the edge angle on a belt sander first and then micro bevel on the WE. The edge angle will vary too much w/ a blade that long and a bevel that wide in my experience.
