College student here, I’ve always liked knives, but sold them because I couldn’t sharpen them. Bought a sharpmaker, learned to be very very patient. However I still wanted more precision and knew I couldn’t get any knives with super steels or long blades. Ordered a propack I, and I’m quite enjoying the break in process, first knife looked like I ground it on the sidewalk but it was very consistent and clean Next couple knives had a benchmade grit level edge. I just sharpened up a native in s90v and my stones are starting to break in enough after stropping I got a nice, refined edge that reminded me of a more shiny spyderco factory edge.
Welcome, sbaker! You’ve just joined a forum with a friendly bunch of guys, so if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask. I guess a lot of us started off with a Sharpmaker (I did). It’s a great tool, but if you want a bit more, the WEPS is the next thing for many. Enjoy!
