Just got my Micro fine ceramic stones and they don’t seem to be very flat are you suppose to lap them or prep them in some way.
Lapping them will smooth them out, and you can also get better performance out of them. Take a look at this thread…

FLAT? Or SMOOTH? I found the coarse side felt higher than it’s rated grit. But I really like it like that, so no worries for me, but some folks have smoothed them out.
OTOH, mine seem to be quite flat.
