I am fine with this. I think it sets a better culture for a forum to work on positive feedback rather than both positive and negative. If someone really needs a beat down the moderators can handle this.
Really, in the end we are all fanboys here. If this was a forum for general knife sharpening I could see a lot of fierce debate about different systems. OK, sorry if I offended any closet fanboys by insinuating you were actually fanboys.
I tend to disagree. The point is that the general population can show a bit of unhappiness with the proccedings if required… as well as approval of contributions. They don’t have to defend themselves either way. If they are forced to do that, likely many will never say anything and either suffer in silence or just not take part…leave the forums. I have to think that this may be the reason that some designer added the feature. I think that it is a good one, just the way it is.

Interesting, no negative karma points, and since I’m such a newbie in the forum…I have no idea it’s overall impact to my reputation yet. But I like it so far…and time will tell.

oops, sorry guys, didn’t mean to peel a scab. I think because I have more than one computer that I monitor the forum on, the old
- karma must have been cached into the memory or what-ever after I thought it was deleted. I was only joking, making light of something I thought was a bit lighthearted to begin with.
I hope no one took it in any other way. Forums are for free flow of thoughts, ideas, observations, experience, sharing, bragging, having fun, or just killing a bit of time with “friends”. There is bound to be differences and even disagreements. Kind of nice to see all the passion and engagement between members, it kinda makes this like a real family in a weird way. I remember some real knock down drag outs with my siblings when I was young, but we always came back together afterward.
So what are the reasons why negative karma was removed Curtis?
