Cool Handle Material

I ran into this video about a year ago when I was looking for new materials other than G-10 and micarta to make handles and scales.

I meant to buy some to play around with but due to my limited tools and other resources, I shifted away from the whole custom scale thing.

Maybe someone here has worked with this material? I know it’s some type of carbon fiber… But it’s really unlike any carbon fiber I’ve ever seen.

It actually looks pretty rad if you ask me!

Yup, that’s sure some different stuff. CFRP would stand for Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic, but I’m not sure what’s the carbon and what’s the plastic. I wonder what the feel would be like.

BTW, I’ve been able to get Dymondwood from Jantz, so they must still have an inventory left over since the fire.

TC,
Yes sir, it is indeed interesting. I’m skimming through the Interwebz as we speak.

Just curious if anyone else has some opinions on this stuff. Thinking I might get some to make scales for a Boker Kwaiken.
