I’m really excited to release this new attachment. It’s in the final stages of design with only one slight modification to be made. I’ve used the prototype and it works tremendously well:
Looks good! Does the bottom piece help square it up, set a depth, or just hold it in place? (Don’t know much about chisel sharpening).
The bottom piece, or gate, is the stop for the chisel tip so it’s repeatable. The chisel rests there while the vise is tightened on the sides and then the gate slides out of the way providing access to the blade for sharpening.
Very cool, Clay. I like this a lot!

Curtis it looks like we better learn? It appears that we are going in the chisel business :woohoo:
All we need now is to know how much to charge?

Very slick setup there. I may have to see if I have any customers at the farmers market who would need some chisels sharpened. I keep mine sharpened up on wet stones, but this may help some other chisels that would have taken way too long on the wet stones. I have the 50/80 grit stones that could really do some good material removal on some jacked up chisels I have seen over the years. I will have to get this soon and I can not wait for that serration sharpener to come out too. Keep up the good work and the great designs. Any guess to the cost of this attachment or the serrated sharpener?
Thank you
Jed
Looks awesome!!! Yet another great innovation! :cheer:
Will this open far enough to hold the blade from a wood plane?
How far are you needing it to go?
Very cool! I wish I had the funds to get more WEPS stuff and attachments like this, but I’ve got enough going on with the shop as it is
I’m definitely looking forward to the scissors and serrated blade stuff in the future, I think those will take precedence for me over the chisel attachment initially… but I plan to get all of them someday!
Clay,
Any projections on the availability of the lower angle device and the paddle stop device.
Thanks,
Mark

Good question! We should have the lower angle device in about 3 weeks and the S.W.A.T. jig in about 4.
Aren’t wood plane blades ~ 2 inches wide?
That sounds about right. The chisel attachment opens to 3.5"

Bring it on..
Being a new guy I have heard about these attachments? But I have been wondering are they a rumor? Are we really going to see a scissor and a serrated blade “gizmo”? I have to join in with ApexGS and say I would LOVE to have them for the WEPS!! :woohoo: :silly:
They’re coming… I’ve seen the prototype… at least of the serrated attachment.
Not a rumor! :cheer: :cheer:

WOW!!! That is great!!! I REALLY want the serrated attachment!! I would love that like yesterday!! :woohoo: :silly: ![]()
Do you have to remove the chisel to remove the bur? Or can a stone fit underneath?
3.5" is plenty wide. ![]()
